Nose job

Wednesday December 21

No sooner did life seem to be looking up - with my new bed and my scabby eczema-afflicted neck drying out - than it was back down to earth with a bump. Particularly my poor nose, which scraped along the road as I landed on it when I fell out the car.

To be fair, it was my fault because in my enthusiasm to check there have been no new dogs on the block in my absence, I tripped on the passenger door ledge and went flying. I'm not as agile as I used to be and my old bones didn't react quickly enough so I landed in a crumpled heap on the floor.

Mum wiped my bloody nose with an old soiled tissue (it was the thought that counts) but I recovered quickly and, with just my pride wounded, I was off sniffing along my usual haunts of the cricket ground, church and hall gardens.

I was relieved to find that nothing had changed - except part of our route along the river in the hall gardens had been blocked off to allow construction of a sensory garden to begin, which I don't mind at all (means I don't have to walk so far).

It's great to be home, even though Mum and Dad left SB and me for a few hours this evening to attend a Chinese family meal to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. Many happy returns Mr B!
